Victorian overpainted photograph of a seated elderly Welsh lady clutching a reading book.
Purchased from an estate sale, the painting comes with the original hat the lady wears in the picture. Framed in a period gilt frame with a label to verso for the Forget-Me-Not Portrait Painting Company Cardiff. I believe this company were in the business of solar enlargement or crayon portrait during the late 19th Century.
The frame has a 15cm area of loss to the gilt beading towards the top.
Measurements: 61cm height x 50cm wide.
