Here we have an unusual set of four miniature oil on canvas paintings by Cornwall artist Nigel Hallard.
Featuring sketches incorporating thumbprints, a portly man with briefcase and top hat, a group conversing in the shadows, adult and child and a figure walking into a blue distance.
Highly unusual, truly captivating and although small and simple the eye seems to notice something new every time rather like a Lowry stick figure. Framed in wooden frames with hessian covering, further signed to verso and dated 1980.
Nigel Hallard was a renowned Mousehole, Cornwall artist where he had his own gallery. He was a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and was well described as being a fantastic painter and character.
The two larger - 14cm x 13cm
Man and child - 12cm x 9cm
Single figure blue ground - 10cm x 10cm.
