Here we have a rare, early Carn pottery (Cornwall) plaque depicting a three masted schooner.

Produced on a limited run only in the 1970s, handmade by John Beusmans complete with back stamp and signature.

Founded by John Beusmans in 1971 Carn Pottery is based at the Old Chapel at Nancledra near Penzance. Carn's instantly recognisable abstract and naturalistic designs and colour ways reflect the rugged environment of its manufacture. The pottery is fast becoming one of the most successful and collected studio potteries in the U.K.
